G4S Secure Solutions (Canada) Ltd is a leading provider of security solutions. Our company specializes in hiring and deployment of security professionals to meet the needs of our clients. At G4S we have partnered with many major companies in securing office buildings, commercial properties, warehouses, distribution centers hospitals, condominium and residential sites.

We are currently seeking for a Residential Security Supervisor to join our team, based at a high-end luxury condo unit in Thornhill, Ontario. We are seeking individuals, with strong ethics, tenacity and adaptability who want to be a part of a world-class organization.

The successful applicant may be required to participate in covering a 24 hour 7 day week work pattern that includes evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays, with a flexible schedule that permits coverage for call-outs and sick days.

Primary Function:

The Residential Security Supervisor supports G4S’s goals through the provision of excellent customer service, working closely as a member of the G4S team, you will help G4S achieve its organisational purpose, to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients specifically by providing a Supervisoring service to the Residential Division.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Recognize the importance of all customers and the role G4S employees plays in influencing our clients perceptions
  • Demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety consciousness in the workplace
  • Respond and react to any and all emergency situations that may occur in the workplace
  • To be professional, reliable, credible responsive and friendly
  • Ensure that the facilities safety and emergency procedures are followed
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date patrol notes, incident reports and information management system entries as required
  • Other security related duties assigned on occasions from G4S clients of the G4S management team
  • Ability to "take charge" and direct others in emergency situations
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
  • Meticulous record keeping, Report writing and observation skills
  • Assist colleagues within all areas when needed with miscellaneous tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Ontario Provincial Security Guard Licence
  • Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR, issued in the Province of Ontario
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Post-Secondary education preferred
  • A Police Foundation or Criminal Justice education is a strong asset

Experience:

  • Supervises Security Guards, Lead Guards and other company personnel
  • ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed
  • Submits detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
  • Meets with client representatives as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service
  • carries out supervisory duties in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures
  • carries out supervisory duties in compliance with Provincial and federal laws
  • carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching/counseling and appraising performance; rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendations.
  • Ensures duties our performed daily, checks daily shift reports, prepares/generates specific reports for the client and or the Company.
  • May be required to troubleshoot to resolve specific site issues/problems.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Provincial licensing requirements for Security Guards.
  • Possession of a valid Canadian G Class Drivers Licence is a strong asset

Languages:

  • Excellent verbal, written and listening English language skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening French language skills are an asset

PC Aptitude:

  • Computer experience and comfort in core Microsoft Office packages
  • Must have the ability to operate controls along with client security software applications.
  • Ability to operate electronic devices such as cell phones and scanners.

  • Positive, outgoing, and attentive demeanor.
  • Demonstrated history of proven reliability and consistency.
  • Previous experience in a residential setting preferred

  • Able to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

  • Professional in demeanor, appearance and grooming
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
  • Able to set priorities and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive, results oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, customer-service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusting relationships at all levels within the organization
  • Able to work additional hours as required, that may include evenings, weekends and over nights
  • Able to think strategically within operational plans
  • Ability to think "outside the box”
  • Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in various situations
